Semi-final and relegation playoff line-ups set to be completed

THE Galway club football leagues have been on the go since St. Patrick's weekend and will reach the end of their round-robin phase this weekend.

Divisions 1, 2, 3A, 3B and 4A each contain eight teams and run on an 'all county' basis. Seven regulation league games are guaranteed before the top four in each division qualify for semi-finals (1v4, 2v3) and the bottom four enter relegation semi-finals (5v8, 6v7). The higher ranked team will have home advantage in those ties.

A ‘two up, two down’ system is in place meaning finalists will be promoted and relegation semi-final losers demoted. Semi-finals are pencilled in for mid-June with finals early July.

The draws for this year’s Senior and Intermediate Football Championships will take place at Raidió na Gaeltachta studios in Casla on Monday, June 16.
