COROFIN UNITED staged the perfect second half comeback as they recovered from an interval deficit to clinch the Connacht Junior Shield title for the first time ever in Drom on Sunday afternoon.

Having fallen behind twice in the opening quarter, they did all their best work on the resumption as three goals eased them to a merited victory. The win was certainly worthy and was backing up the excellent form where a recent five-match league winning run took them clear of the relegation zone and into a more comfortable mid-table position, while also advancing to two cup finals.

While Castlebar Celtic B were less threatening in the overall context of the game, they certainly were the better side in the opening half as they ........
