Mrs Brid Lynch honoured
THEâ€Ë†ONLYâ€Ë†surviving founder member of the Old Tuam Society, Mrs Brid Lynch, Old Road, was honoured at a celebration of the society's 70th anniversary last week. A presentation was made at to her an exhibition of paintings by another founder member, the late Jarlath A O'Connell, in the Town Hall. Pictured in front are Cllr Eamonn Kitt (Mayor of Tuam), Brid Lynch and Alison Titley (daughter of Jarlath A O'Connell) and in back: Noel McCann of the OTS, Dr Tony Claffey (former President, OTS), Anne Tierney (current President), David Burke (Editor The Tuam Herald and former President), Andrea Ridge, daughter of Jarlath O'Connell and Pat O'Hora (former President OTS). A lecture on the Tuam Art Exhibitions of the 1940s, which were of national importance, was given on that Thursday evening by Alison Titley.
