Looped Tuam walk given thumbs up as short term Greenway solution

A NEW walkway that could be used by cyclists through Tuam town is being seen as a major breakthrough in the battle to develop a Greenway in the region.

The plan, proposed by Tuam Lions Club, involves a 5km route starting from the Weir Road, through the town along the River Nanny and across Tuam Rugby Club and Tuam Stars grounds; crossing Glass Avenue and on to Vicar Street via the Railway Station.

It has received strong support by Greenway campaigners in the town who see it as a more achievable project to be delivered in the short term.
