Tuam man is manager of Audi Galway
TUAM man Cathal Byrne is the general manager of the new Audi Galway garage and car showroom, which is part of Audi Ireland's €80 million investment across the country. Cathal is son of Michael and Maureen Byrne, Cloonmore, who were well known in the grocery and pub business in Tuam for many years and who retired a number of years ago.[private] They operated Byrne's Bar at High Street, and in more recent years Byrne's Supermarket, Galway Road. Cathal is married to Gillian Bradley, a member of a family that is also well known in the motor business in Galway. He was born during the fuel crisis of 1973 and spent nearly 12 years working for Bill Cullen, six as dealer principal and the last three as regional dealer principal in Galway, Clare and Mayo. Brothers Kevin and Neil Connolly who have similar garages and motor showrooms in Ballina and Sligo are the dealer principals/ owners of Audi, Galway, which has created 25 new jobs at the Briarhill Business Park, Ballybrit.[/private]
