Galway's Living Bog is given new life

PUPILS from St. Mary’s National School in Mountbellew braved the biting winter elements last Friday morning to take a guided tour of ‘Galway’s Living Bog’: Carrownagappul.
Donning wellies and Santa hats for the occasion, the children, with their teachers Corina Colleran, Una Raftery and Principal Michael Kelly, enjoyed a video presentation on the rich history of Carrownagappul at the new mini-interpretive centre beside Mountbellew Co-op, before making their way a few miles up the road for a first-hand look at the bog itself.
