Glenamaddy manger awaits live crib

AWAY in a manger will be a reality in Glenamaddy on Saturday night when worshippers will have the chance to experience a live crib behind the local church.
Mary and Joseph and the Baby Jesus will be there, with for company Johnny the Donkey and the Shepherds’ lambs. (The ox couldn’t make it this year.)
The idea came up at a Pastoral Council meeting and willing hands were found to build a stable near Fr Paddy Mooney’s house.
In keeping with Pope Francis’s pleas to care for the environment, the stable has been built over a few Saturdays from recycled materials, and it will welcome the faithful on Saturday night after the 7pm Mass.
