Galway entrepreneur speaks at AI summit

A GALWAY-based entrepreneur highlighted the importance of small nations’ contribution to AI development, at a global summit in Geneva.

CEO and founder of Digital Training Institute Joanne Sweeney contributed to two sessions at the AI for Developing Countries Forum Geneva Summit 2026.

She highlighted the assets smaller countries bring to the table.

“What small nations are negotiating today could set the trajectory for the next 30 years,” said Ms Sweeney.

She also contributed to a session focused on the future of work and the role of education in job security.

Ms Sweeney emphasised practical workplace application, identifying concrete departmental challenges, training employees around those workflows, testing AI through pilot projects.
