Appeal for witnesses to fatal collision
THE FUNERAL of the Cummer man who died in a road collision on Friday night will take place tomorrow evening (Wednesday).
Edmundas Berzanskis, who was in his 30s, was involved in a single motorcycle collision that took place in Carraghy, on the N83 Claregalway to Tuam road last Friday night.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident but the young father was pronounced dead at the scene.
Originally from Lithuania, Edmundas had been living in Cummer, Tuam for many years working as a mechanic in the area.
The father of two is survived by his wife Vilma, children Liepa and Ema, brothers Donatas, Martynas, Valentas and Viktorija, and parents Martynas and Irena.
His remains will be reposing at Our Lady’s Chapel, Lackagh on Wednesday evening from 5.30pm with removal to the Church of Our Lady of Knock, Lackagh at 7pm, for Mass at 7.30pm.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses as their investigation continues into the incident. They are appealing to anyone who may have been travelling on the N83 between Claregalway and Tuam between 11pm and 11.40pm, to come forward.
