Man arrested as Gardaí investigate violent disorder in Tuam

GARDAÍ are investigating an incident of violent disorder that occurred on Shop Street in Tuam town on Friday night which left a man with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.
A man in his 40s has been arrested as part of the investigation and is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at a Garda Station in the North Western Region.
Gardaí have confirmed that three men, aged in their 30s and 40s, were taken to University Hospital Galway to be treated for serious injuries, which were not life-threatening, after they received a report that a violent disorder incident had taken place in Tuam on Friday night at approximately 9.20pm.
An appeal has been issued to Gardaí to anyone who may have been in the Shop Street area between 9pm and 9.30pm on Friday night, and has camera footage (including dash cam or mobile phone recordings), to make this footage available to Gardaí as investigations are ongoing.
