Permission sought to extend Williamstown estate

PLANNING permission is being sought to extend a Williamstown housing estate by a further three homes.

Permission was granted last year to build an extra 13 houses at the residential estate.

HF Contracts received approval from Galway County Council last September to build 13 extra homes at the existing Bealach na Ceartan housing estate in Williamstown. Last week the same applicant applied for three more units to be constructed at the estate in the townland of Ballyroe.

The three extra units would be comprised of two-bedroom bungalows. The other 13 dwellings are to be a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced homes. A total number of 36 parking spaces would be provided across the development.

Six homes, detached and semi-detached, were built in the Bealach na Ceartan estate in 2007. The estate is serviced by the L6520 local road and is close to the Parochial Hall in Williamstown.

Local authority planners have until September 15 to make a decision on the application.
