KATE Phillips stars in Black Noise.

Aidan Gillen stars in world premiere at Galway Film Fleadh

GALWAY Film Fleadh will feature the world premiere of ‘Black Noise’, a hallucinogenic horror film directed by Simon Blake.

Winner of the Best International First Feature with his film Still in 2015, Blake returns to the Fleadh with Black Noise, starring Irish actor Aidan Gillen of Love/Hate and Game of Thrones notoriety, and English actress Kate Phillips of Peaky Blinders.

Black Noise is a unique film that sits in a specific space between psychological horror, art house drama and surreal mystery. The story follows Leda Blythe (Kate Philips), a ghostwriter who arrives at a decaying hotel to expose a dysfunctional family’s crimes.

However, drawn under the enigmatic butler’s spell, reality soon dissolves into hallucinogenic fever dreams, where a Grand Guignol climax forces Leda to confront how far she will go for justice and closure.

Aidan Gillen stars as Hector Livingstone, the eldest member of the wealthy family returning for a memorial meal to celebrate his father’s life. Also featured the film are Tom Mothersdale (Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light), Rebecca Calder (I May Destroy You), Michael Jibson (Last Night In Soho) and Jeanie Hackman (The Death of Bunny Munro).

The film premieres at the Pálás cinema in Galway on Thursday, July 9 at 4pm and will be followed by a discussion. To buy tickets or for more information, visit: www.galwayfilmfleadh.com.
