Extra dates for sold-out Shamtown

THE initial run of ten performances of Shamtown, written by Saw Doctors’ manager Ollie Jennings has sold out leading to more dates being added.

The run of shows in the Mick Lally Theatre, Galway will be extended for an extra week with eight additional performances announced from Tuesday 24 November to Sunday 29 November.

Shamtown is set in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.

It is a joyous new play bursting with music, storytelling and fun, charting how a gang of unlikely lads from Tuam captured the heart of a nation and beyond— then brought it all back home in unforgettable style at the West’s Awake Festival in Tuam Stadium in 1991.

Tickets for the extra Shamtown shows go on sale today at 12 noon from the Box Office at Town Hall Theatre Galway (phone 091 569777) or online from www.tht.ie.
