New Intellectual Disability Centre opens in Ballinasloe
A NEW Intellectual Disability Centre has officially opened its doors in Ballinasloe.
Pembrook House, which will be run by Nua Healthcare Services, will accommodate adults with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders.
“It is fantastic to see services like this being developed within rural communities,” commented Ballinasloe District Councillor Alan Harney during the official opening.
“Having access to high-quality supports locally is hugely important for individuals and families across the area.”
Local supports
The new service has been designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and homely environment that supports the individual needs of each resident while encouraging community inclusion, connectedness, identity, and hope.
“We are incredibly proud to open this new Designated Centre in Galway,” stated Noel Dunne, Chief Executive Officer at Nua Healthcare Services.
“This centre will empower its residents though a person-centred approach to care. I would like to thank all of those involved in the development of this service and acknowledge the support we have received from the local community throughout the process.”
