Knockroon national school celebrates its new extension
Most senior past pupil among guests
THERE was a great gathering in recent weeks at Scoil Naomh Pádraig, Knockroon (near Headford) to celebrate the official opening and blessing of its new extension.
Seomra an Dúin is a general-purpose room which was built through the generosity of the school and local community. Fr Dixy Faber performed the blessing, with the oldest and youngest pupils at the school, cutting the ribbon. Pupils, staff, parents and the Board of Management were joined by guests including the school’s most senior past pupil Mary Murphy and Leas-Cathaoirleach of Galway County Council Cllr Mary Hoade, who is also a past pupil of the school.
The opening was followed by an evening celebration for former pupils and parents. The school is very grateful to all who helped and supported them in so many ways to get this vital facility open.
