A new spark in Headford
Club is a hit for lovers of tech and robotics
People with an interest in science needed somewhere where they can relax, meetup and chat with their friends without the pressures of being around their teachers. Places like this based around science just don’t exist
A ROBOTICS revolution has been started by a young student from Corrandulla, eager to pass on his love for all things scientific to others.
The Spark Innovation Hub is a new science club set up by Johnathan McPhilbin, aimed at secondary school students who are passionate about building the future.
It is an opportunity to explore robotics, engineering, coding and entrepreneurship in a collaborative environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Meeting every Friday from 2pm to 6pm, students of all ages from Presentation College Headford descend on the clubhouse at Moyne Villa FC, to work on projects and chill out among their peers.
“We had a very successful robotics team in the school, that had been competing on the international stage. Sadly, the school decided not to enter any competitions this year, so I created my own club,” Johnathan explained to The Tuam Herald.
