Galway teens invited to take part in artists’ programme

Applications now open

TEENAGERS in County Galway are invited to apply for Tiny Mutiny 2026, an artist development programme aimed at young people.

Tiny Mutiny gives teenagers the chance to create their own work from the ground up. Selected participants will receive mentorship from professional artists, a production budget, and practical support to bring their ideas to life over the summer.

The programme welcomes all art forms. Previous projects have included music, animation, writing, graffiti, illustration, manga, film, dance and stop-motion. Each had an emphasis on creativity, experimentation and personal expression.

Now in its third year, the programme is a collaboration between the Galway County Council Arts Office and Sparkcatchers!, (Tuam’s Jojo Hynes and Midie Corcoran). It is also supported by the Arts Council.

This year’s participants will showcase their completed work at The Mall Theatre, Tuam, on Friday September 18 as part of Culture Night 2026.

Applications are now open to young people aged 13-17 living in Co Galway. Those interested in applying are asked to visit the Sparkcatchers! website or to email sparkcatchers.info@gmail.com. The deadline is 12 noon, April 16 with participants announced on April 22.
