Different blends are changing habits
Ireland has traditionally been a nation of tea and alcohol drinkers but habits are changing. Two Galway producers have been gradually playing a part in people's desire for healthier drinks that offer more than hydration and which can benefit overall wellness.
“There is a silent movement towards choosing health and wellness among the people of Galway.”
These are the thoughts of two Galway-based beverage producers who are slowly tapping into this shift of habit with their healthy tea and drinks options.
Solaris Tea and All About are working on bringing non-alcoholic and healthy beverages to provide a choice to those who are trying to watch what they consume.
The producers are part of a new generation, a generation that is reshaping consumerism through conscious efforts when making their choices from among the millions of products available on shelves in the supermarkets.
They are reshaping what it means to socialise, to unwind and take care of themselves, as they slowly move away from traditional alcohol-based and high-sugar drinks.
“The children from 20 years ago who are now young adults in their mid-20s or early 30s are very health conscious. They don’t mind paying a little extra because they want to feel well,” said Karin Müller, co-founder of Solaris Tea, an organic tea company based in Galway.
