Residents 'hear' the footpaths cracking outside

Street was booming years ago

CRACKED footpaths being mounted by lorries is an all too regular sight for residents of Bridge Street.

Two of the residents of the Dunmore street — Eileen Donelon and Cathy Daly — live on the left-hand side going towards the bridge. At Saturday’s protest in the town, they spoke about the access issues and chronic traffic problems they encounter.

“The slates are coming down, the gutters are falling down. The footpaths are all cracked. You can't walk on them sometimes,” said Eileen Donelon, whose daughter Lilian said they can hear the footpaths cracking from inside her mother's home at times.
