Athenry Community Playground will soon go under major upgrades with the help of almost €123,000 funding from the LEADER programme.
Volunteers from Athenry Community Playground Group (ACPG) spent the last year fundraising for the desperately needed improvements to what is the only public playground in Athenry.
The 20-year-old playground has been falling apart in recent years and missing key pieces of equipment which had to be removed in the interests of safety. Most of these will now be replaced and upgraded in the coming months.
