Caltra Cuans captain aiming to go one step better this year

MANY of the Caltra Cuans squad of players were in Croke Park this time 12 months ago donning helmets.

It wasn’t to be for Ahascragh-Caltra in last year’s All-Ireland Intermediate camogie final, as Kerry’s Clanmaurice dominated in Jones’ Road. The game might have changed but these dual players are back again, determined to get it right.

“This time with the big ball,” smiles Caltra Cuans captain Denise Kelly, who played corner-back in last year’s camogie decider.

“Amazing to be back again with the club for football in the green and white. I think there are 19 of us overlapping with the Ahascragh-Caltra camogie team but we also have girls playing with Pearses and a few girls further afield. Sinéad Flood is playing camogie up in Donegal.
