Tuam school brings songs of Elvis to life!
Show runs from Dec 3 to 5
A CELEBRATION of freedom, love, and music is coming to Tuam as St Jarlath’s College presents All Shook Up, the all-American jukebox musical inspired by the legendary songs of Elvis Presley.
This vibrant production marks the 82nd annual show for the college and the third year featuring both male and female students on stage. Under the expert direction and choreography of Ronan Lardner and with musical direction and production by the ever-energetic Connie Burke, the production promises an unforgettable experience.
Set in a small Midwestern town in the summer of 1955, All Shook Up tells the story of Natalie, a spirited young woman longing for adventure. Her world is turned upside down by the arrival of Chad, a charismatic, guitar-playing rebel whose presence challenges the town’s strict rules and sparks a whirlwind of romance, mistaken identities, and self-discovery — all to the timeless soundtrack of Elvis Presley.
Audiences will be treated to iconic hits such as Jailhouse Rock, It’s Now or Never, A Little Less Conversation, and Can’t Help Falling in Love. The talented cast includes Annie Finegan as Natalie/Ed, Jack Blake Cleary as Chad, and Daithi Melia as Dennis, alongside a stellar ensemble bringing humour, heart, and high-energy performances to the stage.
The show also features Laura Cassiano Nunes as Miss Sandra, Luke Corbett as Dean Hyde, Olivia Lynch as Mayor Matilda Hyde, Sarah Brennan as Lorraine, Emma Winston as Sylvia, Cian Corbett as Jim, and Joe Regan as Sheriff Earl.
Performances take place in the St Jarlath’s College Hall on Wednesday, December 3 and Thursday, December 4 at 7pm, with an earlier start time on Friday, December 5 at 6pm so everyone can be home in time for the Toy Show. Tickets available from the college office (093-24342) and Quinn’s Shop.
