Huge disappointment that Tuam won’t host any Galway games
CAPACITY has been identified as the reason why the Galway football team will not play any of their home National League games in Tuam Stadium in 2026, a decision that has caused disappointment among football fans and businessowners in the area.
The draft National League fixture list has put Galway’s home fixtures against Mayo, Roscommon and Dublin down for Pearse Stadium.
DAFTS (Development Advocates for Tuam Stadium) has contacted the County Board to express their disappointment.
“We hope there is a valid reason for it. We have asked the County Board why there is not a game in Tuam and to reconsider the position,” said Kevin O’Dwyer, Chairman of DAFTS.
