Family centre will allow for more support and services

Plans to reach more groups in the area

TUAM is set to benefit from a new Family Resource Centre as Tusla looks to expand its reach to more communities across the country.

The facility, which will be based at Brú Bhríde, Churchview, is one of only five new centres nationwide under Tusla’s 2025 expansion programme. It will receive €160,000 in core annual funding to deliver family and community supports.

“This is great news as it is something which the town and its surrounding areas badly need,” David Collins, the Project Coordinator at Brú Bhríde, told The Tuam Herald.

“Because of the socio-economic profile of Tuam, it is going to help various types of people in different circumstances, but our doors will always be open to everyone.

“But there are vulnerable people who will need more support than others and we will be doing all we can to help them through advice, counselling and support services,” he added.ad that official status before and the security that comes with,” added Cllr Collins.
