Minister cuts ribbon on ‘new chapter’ at West-Midlands CU

A large crowd was on hand in Tuam last Friday morning for the official launch of the West-Midlands Credit Union, a group of credit unions which includes the former St Jarlath’s Credit Union.

Locally the credit union serves a large community across the north of Galway through offices located in Tuam, Headford, Mountbellew, Glenamaddy, Dunmore, Williamstown, Glinsk, Abbeyknockmoy, Turloughmore, Corrandulla, and Moylough.

The new name is the result of the successful merger with the Athlone and Castlerea Credit Unions, making it one of the largest credit unions in the country. The ribbon was cut at the Tuam branch by Junior Finance Minister Robert Troy.
