BRIGHTENING up Tuam's streetscape

Teenagers get creative with town's grey boxes

A NEW project delivered by a group of talented Tuam creatives is grabbing the attention of passersby around the town.

The project called ‘Slay the Grey’ saw young people demonstrate their art skills on several traffic-light utility boxes and litter bins around town to bring a touch of vibrancy, joy and imagination to the streetscape.

Supported by Galway County Council’s Community Support Scheme 2025 Arts Grants, the project has been planned and implemented by a group of 11 members between the ages of 13 and 18 years from the Creative Youth Committee of Sparkcatchers.
