Keeping Creggs clean, bright and beautiful
Creggs is a village steeped full of history, heritage, and places of natural beauty. It is the location of the final public speech by Charles Stewart Parnell, while the River Suck provides a stunning landscape for walkers and fisherman alike.
Keeping the area looking its best for visitors for the past 26 years are the members of the Creggs Tidy Towns group, who were out in force sprucing up the main street when The Tuam Herald visited last week.
“Back in 1999 there were big concerns over the amount of dumping occurring in our wildlife park, that motivated a group of us to start this group which has grown from strength to strength since then,” recalled Chairperson Sean Beirne.hen working on larger projects such as the annual Spring Clean Up, it also links in with the local school.
