Gardai investigate spate of car-related crimes in Athenry

GARDAÍ in Athenry are investigating several incidents where cars were broken into in the town last week.

The keys of a car were taken from a house that was burgled in the Dún Rí estate between 1am and 8am last Wednesday morning, and the car was subsequently stolen.

Two more vehicles were broken into that morning in the local area, in the Garraí Glas estate between 2am and 4am, as well as the Parklands estate between 12.30am and 8am.

At least four cars were broken into between 11pm last Tuesday night and 4am on Thursday morning in the Caisléan Óir area of Athenry.

Gardaí are appealing for members of the public to come forward who may have witnessed these incidents or have access to CCTV footage which may be of assistance.
