Galway enter last chance saloon
‘Must win’ tie against an already qualified Armagh
WITH only an away draw against Derry in the bank, Galway’s All-Ireland Senior Football Championship hopes and dreams for 2025 will be very much on the line against old rivals Armagh in Breffni Park, Cavan on Saturday evening (throw-in: 6.30pm, live on GAA+).
Padraic Joyce’s side enter ‘must win’ territory for their concluding Group 4 fixture, otherwise they will be relying on favours from Dublin in their Round 3 tie with Derry being played simultaneously at Páirc Esler, Newry (also on GAA+).
Opponents Armagh go into the tie with confidence levels soaring. Top spot is already wrapped up with wins, mightily impressive ones at that, against Derry and Dublin. They are the country’s form team and have a whole host of footballers playing out of their skin at the moment.
