Footballer Shane abseils Croke Park to help niece

THREE Clonberne brothers will abseil from the roof of Croke Park on Thursday of next week to help raise funds for a charity that provides support to their niece, Grace Costello.

Galway footballer Shane Walsh will travel the 150feet from the top of the Jones’ Road stadium to the hallowed turf beneath alongside his older brothers Barry and Bryan as part of the Abseil Challenge fundraiser in aid of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.

Grace Costello from Clonberne is the daughter of Brendan and Aisling Costello, and sister to brothers Milo and Paudie.

Born in 2021, Grace has development delays, hearing loss and microcephaly. Grace has complex care needs, and her family are provided with essential nursing support by the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.

Donations to the Shane Walsh Abseil Challenge can be made via the iDonate website.
