Memorial Truck and tractor to boost school facilities

MONIES raised from this weekend’s fundraiser in memory of a popular Garrafrauns man will go towards a range of planned upgrades at Garrafrauns NS.

Gerard Greene worked as a tree surgeon and tragically died as a result of a workplace accident seven years ago. Ger had a passion for tractors and was a member of the Dunmore Vintage Club.

The Gerard Greene Memorial Truck and Tractor Run has been held each year since his passing. Proceeds from last year’s tractor run went to Dunmore NS, and this year it is the turn of Garrafrauns NS to receive a funding boost. Michael and Ursula Greene, parents of Ger, have children attending Garrafrauns NS.

The event gets underway this Sunday at 1pm in Dunmore, with registration taking place in Easca Group’s yard in the Square from 11.30am.
