MUM'S THE WORD!

Mothers become Buggy Buddies in Tuam

NEW mums in Tuam have been enjoying taking part in weekly exercise sessions while bringing their baby along.

The Buggy Buddies programme run by Galway Sports Partnership began early in March at the Tuam Stars GAA Centre.

The six-week programme is held inside and outside, depending on how favourable the weather is, and allows mums to get some time to take a little exercise in a safe environment for them and their babies.

Everyone goes at their own pace and the programme is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities.

The sessions have taken place on Mondays from 11.30am to 12.30pm and, so far, it seems the mums and babies are all enjoying themselves.

The exercise includes buggy walks, some instructor-led strength and mobility exercises and, of course, it all ends with a tea or coffee and plenty of chat…
