Lions seek glasses!

Your old glasses can help someone else see clearly

That’s an experience millions of people in underdeveloped countries may only dream of, because they cannot afford the price of a pair of spectacles.

Here in the prosperous west, we change our glasses several times over the years as our sight changes. The result is that many of us have quite a few pairs gathering dust, out of sight, out of mind.

Now, Tuam Lions Club is giving glasses hoarders a chance to de-clutter and put those lenses and frames to good use.

The Lions have teamed up with three locations in the town where your glasses may be re-cycled: Feely’s Totalhealth Pharmacy on Dublin Road; Kilgarriff’s Opticians on Vicar Street; and Fahy Opticians on Shop Street…
