Gardai probe power tool thefts

Number of items taken in separate incidents

GARDAÍ in Tuam are investigating two incidents which involved the theft of tools.

The first theft was from a work van that occurred on September 18, a Monday morning between 11.20am and 12.30pm, on the Ballygaddy Road, Tuam.

The owner of the van returned to discover the van broken into. The following tools were taken: De Walt drill, De Walt impact drill, De Walthammer drill, De Walt battery 18 volt X 3, various plumbing tools, a jigsaw skill saw, angle grinder, and a Tote tool bag black.

Dunmore Road

The second incident gardaí are investigating is a theft of work tools that occurred on September 23 at 12.25 at Valeo, Dunmore Road, Tuam.

The injured party had parked his van up and when he returned he discovered his vehicle was broken into and a Stihl hand strimmer X 2 and a hedge trimmer were taken.

Tuam gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the times of either of these two incidents, or who may have been offered these items for purchase.
