THERE is a big call out for people to get involved in showcasing Tuam’s creative talents over the West’s Awake Weekend on August 19-20 when Davy Carton (pictured) and The Saw Doctors play their homecoming shows in the town.

Massive creative showcase for West’s Awake Weekend

TUAM is aiming to be set on creative and celebratory overload for the West’s Awake weekend in August, when thousands of people will flood the town to attend the two home gigs of The Saw Doctors.

Just under 5,000 tickets have been sold for each of the two concerts the band will play in the Big Top to be erected at St Jarlath’s College fields.

Ahead of the big weekend, a public call is being made for local artists, performers, musicians and creatives to get busy and get involved to ensure the town showcases and celebrates its creativity over that weekend.

Carolann Courtney of Creative Places Tuam told The Tuam Herald that the concerts provide a fantastic opportunity for everyone in Tuam to show visitors, local and further afield, what makes the town so special from a creative perspective.

“Using Tuam town as a venue, if you are planning something, or would like to do something, or have an idea – we are here to amplify and support that, just get in touch,” explained Carolann…
