Multi-million euro road a ‘game changer’ for village

A MULTI million-euro roads project for Abbeyknockmoy has been given the green light after months of delay came to an end with the decision by An Bord Pleanála to approve the scheme.

The N63 Liss to Abbey Realignment Scheme will involve a 2.3km road realignment extending from the edge of Abbeyknockmoy village to Derreen, crossing the Abbert River.

Director of Service for Galway County Council Derek Pender said confirmation of the An Bord Pleanála ruling came last Friday which meant the project could proceed, with work expected to begin by the middle of next year.
