Fears pub turned take-away may cause a stink

A PLANNING application seeking to transform a former Tuam pub into a restaurant and take-away has been put on hold as planners want to be assured it won’t cause a stink for its neighbours.

A Knocknacarra-based company, Ghazman Ltd, is behind the planning permission seeking to change the use of The Square Inn in Tuam’s town centre.

The extensive building, which has several apartments above the former pub premises, is currently owned by HCG Properties in Tuam.

A decision on the application was due last week, but planners have sought further information about several aspects of the proposal.
