Tuam Flower and Garden Club celebrates 30

A LOVE of flowers and a grá for gardening need not be mutually exclusive, but a Tuam group that cultivates a passion for both is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary next month, with a growing membership showing there are plenty of green fingers in the community.

Tuam Flower and Garden Club turns 30 on March 29, and its dedicated committee is planning a special night to showcase their talents, as well as celebrate their longevity, in the Ard Rí House Hotel, which has down through the years hosted the monthly meetings where the group discuss flower arranging techniques and host guest speakers from the world of gardening.

Club President Mary Campbell said the club has grown in popularity since its inception in 1992, when the first meeting was held in the town.
