Youthreach Tuam celebrates 25 years

Success of programme in educating school leavers lauded

A QUARTER of a century of education provision for school leavers was celebrated in Tuam last week when Youthreach marked 25 years in the town.

Several staff members from when the centre first opened in 1997 were in attendance at the Airglooney campus, where co-ordinator Brenda Ivers welcomed local politicians and current students.

“This is a very big day for us here in Youthreach Tuam and this is very much a learner led event as the students have had huge input into the day and I congratulate them on a wonderful job,” she said.

“We are marking 25 years in Tuam, as well as launching Our Creative Journey booklet, which was a project run successfully over the past two years in conjunction with Creative Schools Ireland and is being launched by Owen Ward.”
