HEADFORD MART is one of the most proactive in Ireland when it comes to health and safety measures.

Weanling sales were back at the mart on Friday evening and, on Saturday September 17, their ‘Autumn Monster Cattle Show and Sale Day’ takes place.

Exciting times indeed for the North Galway mart, and their appraisal as a beacon for safe farming practices came as a badge of pride for those involved in the Co-Op.

“We had a health and safety inspector down to us a few weeks ago,” said Joyce Whelan, who is Interim Manager of Headford Mart.

“She said that we are one of most proactive marts in the country for health and safety. We were delighted with that...”
