Everything came up roses for Belclare man in Tralee
ON Monday night Belclare’s Shane McHugh was announced as Escort of the Year at the 2022 instalment of the world-famous Rose of Tralee festival.
Shane received the majority of the 66 votes – cast by the 33 Roses and their escorts - to land the top gong and the prize of €1,000, which the 24-year-old says he will be donating to Galway Hospice.
Speaking to The Tuam Herald Shane believed his Joe Dolan singing impressions may have been the deciding factor in emerging top of the pile.
