Shane Walsh seeks transfer to Kilmacud Crokes

THE news that Galway star attacker Shane Walsh is seeking a transfer from his native club Kilkerrin-Clonberne to Dublin’s Kilmacud Crokes sent shockwaves across the GAA in recent days.

Whispers of a possible move had been spreading like wildfire across the rumour mill locally in recent months, but nothing had been officially confirmed until the weekend.

Walsh, who recently returned to college in Dublin at the Portobello Institute in the hopes of becoming a PE teacher, had been travelling between the capital and Galway for inter-county training during 2022 and was a key cog as Padraic Joyce’s side reached a first All-Ireland senior decider in 21 years.
