‘We’ll stay at it and stay going,' vows Joyce

Tuam Stadium awash with footballs, flags and faces

THE two buses carrying the Galway squad and backroom personnel across the county arrived at Tuam Stadium at 6.23pm on Monday evening.

Children and adults of all ages had come from Inis Mór, Skehana, Oranmore, Clonberne, Dunmore, Cortoon, Caherlistrane, Corofin, Tuam and other parishes to thank Padraic Joyce’s squad for their efforts in Sunday’s All-Ireland final and throughout 2022.

This was a civic reception not just for the Galway senior squad, but also the All-Ireland Championship-winning minor panel, and Cathaoirleach of Galway County Council Michael ‘Mogie’ Maher addressed both groups.

Footballs emblazoned with Galway crests, and balls of many colours, were kicked about the pitch, and into and over the ‘Town End’ goal…
