Over 400 people attend public meeting in Athenry

A CROWD of over 400 people attended a meeting in Athenry this week to support a campaign to secure the future of Rural Social and Tus Schemes that are in danger of collapse due to a lack of participants.

The Save our Schemes event at the Raheen Woods Hotel on Monday evening was delayed by half an hour as people struggled to find parking at the venue, such were the crowds of people that turned out.
