Horse and Pony Leagues ready for take-off

THE first round of the Connaught Region Horse and Pony Leagues gets underway at the Galway Equestrian Centre in Athenry this Bank Holiday Sunday.

The launch of the leagues was made last week at McHugh’s Pub and Restaurant in Castlegar. Horse riders, sponsors and committee members of the selected shows that will host rounds were in attendance.

Competitors will pitch up at the Ballinasloe Show on May 28, the Headford Gymkhana and Dog Show on June 12, the Corrandulla Show on June 26 and Duffy’s Equestrian Centre in Claregalway on the first weekend of August …
