Galway to potentially get 20 new EV portals

Scope for up to 200 and more similar structures to be put in place in Galway

A PILOT SCHEME for 20 new electric vehicle (EV) charging points in County Galway is set to be drawn up within the coming weeks.

A working group met with representatives of Galway County Council, and it was agreed that a document be formulated outlining where the locations are going to be.

The pilot proposal is due to be completed within the coming weeks and will pass through the council’s hands prior to being sent onto the Department of Transport for the overall seal of approval.

The Dáil breaks up for summer holidays at the end of July, and Milltown Councillor Joe Sheridan, who is a member of the working group, is hopeful a response will have been received by then...
