Athenry Agri Show back after three long years

AGRICULTURAL SHOWS make their return to the West of Ireland in Athenry on the fourth Sunday of May.

The Athenry Agricultural Show takes place at Teagasc’s Mellows Campus on the outskirts of Athenry town on May 22.

The last Athenry show, which moved from the mart’s site in the town with the assistance of Galway East TD Anne Rabbitte to the campus, was on May 26 of 2019.

That was the 130th running of one of Ireland’s longest running farming and home industry shows, and as always, the range of activities and competitions is expected to be just as wide and diverse again this year.

In the way of animals, there will be a dog show, equine showing and jumping, along with various classes of sheep.
