Father and daughter inspire brave humanitarian mission

A WILLIAMSTOWN father and daughter have led a team of volunteers to Ukraine and back to deliver vital supplies and ferry refugees from the war-torn country.

Aidan Geraghty and his teenage daughter Gemmischa were among a team of seven to travel to Eastern Europe last week, after raising over €16,500 on a GoFundMe page set up to help people fleeing the war with Russia.

The team left Castlerea last Tuesday March 15 on a bus loaded with medical supplies and humanitarian aid and arrived back in Ireland in the early hours of Sunday morning.
