Interior Designer Sarah Petersen with her dog Mollie.

Danish flair with an Irish air

IT’S in her DNA: the creativity and inventiveness percolating from her maternal grandmother Kay O’Gara, founding member and one-time president of the Tuam Guild of the Irish Countrywomen’s Association; through her mother artist Ann Harkin Petersen; and the business acumen, interest in design and problem-solving from her Danish father Fleming Petersen.

Interior Designer and Project Manager Sarah Petersen was born and reared in Tuam and is the proprietor of Dan-Éire Designs, the name giving a nod to her dual heritage background. She specialises in residential and commercial projects and has also worked on new builds, renovations, and interactive visitor centres.

Sarah is currently writing an advisory book about building, with a corresponding planner which people will appreciate when they decide to build that extension and have to deal with a team of specialists such as plumbers, engineers, electricians, builders, and architects.

Dan-Éire Designs is an interior design consultancy based in Galway. They work locally and nationally and since Covid-19 they have gone international.
