Shop local initiative to boost bid to find home for ladies' footballers

Numbers at Tuam-Cortoon club have trebled in past four years

PEOPLE are being asked to show their love and support for their town and their ladies’ football club over Valentine’s week.

The quest to find a home for the 300-plus members of Tuam-Cortoon Ladies Gaelic Football Club continues, but land can’t be bought without funds and the club is in the throws of trying to raise €200,000 in its biggest fundraising drive to date.

The top prize is an Audi car but, this weekend, anyone who purchases or who has purchased a draw ticket for €25 can look forward to plenty of bonus rewards.

Many shops in Tuam are offering a special discount to any customer who produces their draw ticket stub. Ticket holders will also be eligible for entry to a special Valentine’s draw for a hotel break and the second prize of luxury spa treatments.

And there will be no excuse to not being able to buy a ticket as the fundraising committee is holding pop-up ticket shops around the town on both weekends and people can also simply buy them online at www.winanaudi.com
